Kidney Care Where Southwest Florida Comes Together
If you've driven the beautiful stretch of US-41 between Naples and Fort Myers — past the terracotta roofs, manicured landscapes, and palm-lined boulevards — you know Bonita Springs. It's a place where people come to enjoy Florida's best: pristine beaches, world-class golf, and a relaxed pace of life. And at The Kidney Institute of Bonita Springs, we bring that same quality and care to kidney health.
Located on South Tamiami Trail near Coconut Road — just minutes from Coconut Point Mall and the Lee Health Bonita campus — we serve patients from Pelican Landing, Bonita Bay, Estero, Naples, Fort Myers, and communities throughout Lee and Collier counties. Whether you're a year-round resident or a seasonal visitor who calls Southwest Florida your winter home, we're here to provide consistent, compassionate dialysis care.
As part of the ARC Dialysis network — Florida's largest kidney care practice with 12 centers statewide — we combine the personal attention of a local clinic with the resources and expertise of a comprehensive healthcare system. We're not a national chain managing patients from a distant corporate office. We're your neighbors, committed to serving Southwest Florida with care that treats you like family.
Why Bonita Springs Patients Choose The Kidney Institute
- Convenient US-41 location — Right on the Tamiami Trail near Coconut Road, we're easy to find whether you're coming from Naples, Estero, or Fort Myers. Just look for us near the Lee Health Bonita Health Center campus.

Comprehensive Kidney Care Services
The Kidney Institute of Bonita Springs offers the full range of dialysis and kidney support services you'd expect from a Joint Commission-accredited facility — delivered with the personal touch of a community clinic in one of Florida's most desirable retirement destinations:
- In-center hemodialysis — State-of-the-art equipment, comfortable reclining treatment chairs, and skilled registered nurses and certified technicians monitoring every session.
- Home dialysis education and support — For patients interested in peritoneal dialysis or home hemodialysis, we provide comprehensive training, supplies coordination, and ongoing clinical support.
- Coordination with regional specialists — We work with nephrologists, vascular surgeons, and transplant teams at Lee Health, NCH Healthcare, and facilities throughout Southwest Florida.
- Nutritional counseling — Our dietitians help you build a kidney-friendly eating plan that works with your lifestyle — including dining out at Southwest Florida's many restaurants.
- Social services and care coordination — From Medicare and insurance questions to transportation assistance, our team helps you navigate the system.
- Snowbird coordination — We communicate with your home dialysis center to ensure continuity of care throughout the season.
Why Choosing the Right Dialysis Center Matters
When your kidneys can no longer filter waste and balance fluids on their own, dialysis becomes essential. But not all dialysis experiences are the same. In a community known for exceptional quality of life, you deserve kidney care that matches that standard — without having to travel to Tampa or Miami.
Hemodialysis sessions typically last 3 to 4 hours, three times per week. That's a significant commitment — and where you spend that time matters. The Kidney Institute offers comfortable treatment chairs, personal TVs, Wi-Fi, and a calm environment where you can rest, read, or catch up on your favorite shows. Our staff knows your name, remembers your preferences, and notices when something isn't right.
Being in Bonita Springs — the "Gateway to the Gulf" — means you're never far from the beach, the golf course, or your grandchildren. We're here to help you maintain that active Southwest Florida lifestyle, even while managing kidney disease.
Who We Serve & What to Expect
The Kidney Institute welcomes patients experiencing:
- Chronic kidney disease (CKD) — Whether you're newly diagnosed or have been managing CKD for years, we provide ongoing care and education.
- End-stage renal disease (ESRD) — When kidney function drops below 15%, dialysis becomes necessary. We're here to make that transition as smooth as possible.
- Acute kidney injury (AKI) — If you've been hospitalized at Lee Health, NCH, or elsewhere for sudden kidney complications, we provide seamless follow-up care.
- Pre- and post-transplant support — Working toward a kidney transplant? We coordinate your dialysis care before and after surgery.
- Seasonal residents needing continuity of care — Whether you're here for three months or six, we provide consistent, high-quality dialysis throughout your Southwest Florida stay.
What to Expect When You Join Our Care Team:
- Initial consultation and evaluation — We review your medical history, current medications, and lifestyle to build a personalized care plan.
- Coordination with your physicians — If you're coming from another facility or have specialists at Lee Health or NCH, we work directly with your care team.
- Vascular access assessment — If you need a fistula, graft, or catheter, we coordinate with vascular surgeons throughout Southwest Florida.
- Your first treatment — Our team walks you through every step, answers all your questions, and makes sure you feel comfortable and informed.
- Ongoing monitoring — Regular lab work, blood pressure checks, and nutritional assessments keep your treatment on track.
- Continuous support — From social workers to dietitians to our nursing staff, you'll have a full team behind you.
